I can go into a little more detail on UFO and EFF, but the video mostly covers things. None of these will do you wrong, it's mostly down to personal preference.
It does want to limit you to max 5 followers, but you can probably overwrite that with TES5edit or whatever. The vague impression I get is that it's got more little things where you can make your followers do funky emotes and have them shapeshift when you do if you're a werewolf or vampire lord.
I've recently switched to EFF, it's got a few more things that I like and I haven't had problems with it. I've used UFO for a long time, it gets the job done, but a lot of the little things that made it great back in the day (like follower horses) have been subsequently done better by other mods (like Convenient Horses).
